International friendlies: Nigeria Super Eagle bow down to Serbia.



Nigeria’s superb winning which has being an extension of the world cup qualifying run under Gernot Rohr was Tuesday night came to an end after they west Africa team was beaten by Serbia two nil (2-0)

Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic netted a second half brace to give Serbia a deserved win in a match the Eagles played for most part on the back foot.

The lively Mitrovic stabbed home the opening goal after 68 minutes of good attack moves from the left.

He got his second on 81 minutes to take the game beyond the Eagles.

Serbia dominated the first half of the Eagles World Cup warm-up and took their better chances before the final whistle.

 Francis Uzoho the young goalkeeper had saved the goalline after 13 minutes, but TV replays later showed the ball had crossed the goalline and Serbia should have at least been a goal up.

Nigeria’s fast breakaways troubled the defence led by skipper Aleksandar Kolarov on the handful of times they managed to do so, but after the interval, Serbia, ranked 34th in the world, put away two of the chances they created and confirm their superiority.
