Haven gotten promotion from armature to division two last season, Fatai dragons football club, Ekpoma have hosted it first soccer launch out in Ekpoma on Tuesday.
The team management is looking for a better blueprint that will help the team gain further promotion to through the various league stages to the Nigeria Professional Football League in the nearest future.
The soccer event is geared towards bringing the who and who in sports industry together for better strategies on way forward.
Speaking during the event, the Onojie of Ekpoma, represented by chief Benson idobowwo said fatai football club has become a blessing the entire Esan land, he said with the birth of the new football club Ekpoma as an autonomous community is beginning to have their specific space in the scheme of thing as is concerns sports.
'The Onojie is very happy to see a thing like this coming to Ekpoma, we are very ready to support the team all round".
On his part, the chairman of the club, chief Doc. Fatai Aliu said it was out of his love for sports that made him to go into football business, a situation he described as mission guided with the philanthropical inner being about him.
Earlier, the national chairman, Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rev. Samuel Ikpea when advising the team players on what is expected of them, said, the players should be focus and be discipline if they really want to go far in game of football.
'You people should be very thankful for haven a man like chief Fatai who in his philanthropical gesture deem it fit and saw the positive impact he has to make by engaging the youth. We as supporters club will have to equally contribute out quoter so that the load will not be too much on chief Fatai, Ikpea added.
During the soccer launch out event, the foundation of a storey building that will house the players of the football club was also layed by HRH, Anthony Ehizojie Abumere 11 and Rev. Samuel Ikpea in Ekpoma, Including the decoration of chief Fatai Aliu as a patron to the Nigeria Football Supporters Club by the national chairman.
The sporting event gathered big wings in academics, Sports and and traditional rulers which includes the vice Chancellor, Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, the Onogie of Ekpoma, HRH, Anthony Ehizojie Abumere 11, the Onojie of Ekpoma, Rev. Samuel Ikpea, the national chairman, Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Com. Ahmed Aigbona (Swan chairman, Edo state chapter) amongst others.
