International friendly: Ola Aina gives Nigerians course for alarm.

Port Harcourt- Nigeria super eagle on Monday defeated their Africa counterpart DR Congo in their final home match before moving to Russia for the 2018 FIFA world cup.

The international friendly game which ended in 1-1 saw the Nigerian team almost triumphing over the opponent with several attempt  that would have led to goals been conceived by Congolese team.

In what could be described as a fight to the finish by the home and away team with almost 50/50% possession throughout the entered game. William Troost Ekong stroke the net in the first quarter (15 minutes) through the assistant of Ogeyi Onazi to put Nigeria forward.

The visiting team kept pressing until 78 minutes when Ola Aina succumb to pressure with a rough tackle on DR Congo player within the eighteen herd box when the referee pointed to the penalty spot which was taken by  B. malango who  leveled the score line 1-1.

Super eagle players like Tyrani Ebuehi had a wonderful performance in a bid to make sure he solidify a starting place in the first eleven. Also the partnership of Leon Balogun and William T Ekong at the Central defence was a solid wall that may not be threatened by any of the world cup group opponent be it Argentina, Croatia or Iceland.

Speaking to newsmen after the match, the coach of the Nigeria team, Gernot Roth, said he is confident of taking maximum points as it matters during world cup, he said he believe in his young team that will be led by the other experience lads like Mikel Obi, Odion Ighalo and others.

Meanwhile the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium was heavily filled with the members of Nigerian Football Supporters Club Led by their National Chairman Rev. Samuel Ikpea, who inspired the Super eagle with their melodious display.
