Benin City - A former Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government, Deacon Newman Ugiagbe have called on all unregistered voters in the state to make good use of the extension by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, concerning the continuous voters registration, CVR, exercise all over the country.
Deacon Newman describe the recent extension of the exercise which will last till 31st August 2018 as a welcome development that will give every Nigerian a sense of belonging.
He said, unregister voters in country should take advantage of the golden opportunity as such could be an avenue of making sure that the will and aspiration of the people is achieved.
''People should come out and take good advantage of this extension to register because democracy is the type of government that its process of coming to power depend on the highest number of voters you get, we can not be talking of a capable and productive representation without proper participation''
''We can not fight or pursue the purpose and course that will profit and develop our various area especially as it relates to the fourth coming election base on mere saying that we don't want this or that, this is one of the process of getting it right if we want to get it right in the next election ), especially in my Local Government (Orhionmwon) because we have been lagging behind in terms of selfless representation, as for me and my people we must get it right in Orhionmwon South Constituency'' Newman added.
INEC in a press statement on Tuesday announce the extension of CVR exercise from 17th of this month to 31th in all the designated registration centres including weekends, but excluded public holidays, between 9am and 5pm every day.
