2019 election: Vote wisely, end our lamentation and worries --- TALAKAWA leader

Benin city - As different individuals begins to gain political relevance ahead of the 2019 general election in Nigeria, Rights Activist and Civil Society member in Edo State, Marxist Kola Edokpayi, has charged  the  people of Oredo West Constituency, Oredo Local Government Area of Edo state to look beyond the era of lamenting  bad governance on daily basis without taking action.

Marxist Kola made the charge at the secretariat of Africa Democratic Congress (ADC), in Benin City the Edo State capital, when he led his supporters to pick the party  Expression of interest/Nomination Form to contest for the House of Assembly seat to represent the people of Oredo West Constituency.

He said, if the narratives of ineffective and bad governance that has taken the people backward must stop, the electorate must be ready to take the bull by the horn vis-à-vis using the forth coming 2019 election in biding for effective representation that will be guaranteed of people inclusive policies.

Addressing the gathering, the 'TALAKAWA PARLIAMENT' leader lamented how successive representation across political sphere have exchanged the people development for personal gains.

He expressed confidence in his background to attract and move motions that will emancipate, develop and liberate the people from the iron grip of inhumanity of man to man which will no longer be entertain in his constituency.

"We cannot continue to be lamenting on daily basis on the streets as state actors for the voice of justice in the society putting into perspective our agitations against bad governance  for donkey  years, that is why, as activist, people like me must proceed to the parliament to change the negative narrative; imagine  a situation where Edo State House of Assembly members voted against their independence and autonomy simply because of their selfish interest".

"When we are there, a situation like that we must not allow to happen, I will move motions that we uplift the life of the people. We want to use legislation to champion activism for the common people in the streets so that the last man on the street can confidently say, uhuru at last. He added.

He however, enjoined members of the party to continue to embrace peace and sort for those who truly represents the interest of the people.

Responding, the Party State Chairman, Jonathan Aifuobhokhan, commended comrade Marxist Kola Edokpayi for his sagacious and long fight for the people of Edo State, and sue for the support of all across the nook and cranny of Oredo West for the aspiration to be realised.
