Mr. Collins, a praise singer armed with a Trumpet to perform at 84th Birthday anniversary of the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion has blamed the low patronage of this year celebration on the current economic hardship.
He said, the celebration that was characterized as a day of giving in the past is no longer the same as it use to be owning to the fact that it may not be far from the current situation in the country.
Paparazzi who mounted strategic locations to get the attention of visitors and politicians in front of the venue could hardly get nothing.
According to one of the photographers who declined sharing his details with peoples daily correspondent said: "Many of these politicians who have come to felicitate with the Esama this year, are not givers unlike the experience we had last year.
"We are just praying for somebody to bless us before the end of the day, so that we can have something to take home", he lamented.
Members of Edo State executive Council led by the State governor, Godwin Obaseki were among the early callers at the residence.
The Birthday celebration of the Octogenarian attracted personalities from religious backgrounds, politics sphere, business and enthusiasts at his luxurious garden residence at Okada Avenue, Government Reservation Area, GRA in Benin City.
