...as family members protest death of ex-Edo Deputy Speaker

Aggrieved family members of late Dr. Osaretin Osadolor, ex-Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, have called on the state government to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death.
Addressing newsmen during the protest in Benin city, the younger brother of the deceased, Mr. Michael Egaghe alleged that his brother was murdered.
Mr Egaghe said, the family of the deceased wrote a petition to Esigie police division to investigate the two suspects who are the deceased son, Mr. Eruse Samuel and one Mrs. Omoyemwen Oni who the deceased was cohabiting with, before his death.
He said the case had since been transfered from Esigie to state police command but alleged that the command had cover up the case and his brother buried without the knowledge of his family.
He called on Edo State commissioner of police, CP Johnson Kokumo to transfer the case to AIG zone 5 for onward investigation as demanded for by the zonal command.
He further alleged that the police had refused to release the autopsy result, video footage and pitures conducted on the deceased for onward investigation which cost him three hundred thousand naira.
The deceased, Dr. Osaretin Osadolor, ex-Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly and lecturer in Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, was murdered on the 2nd of July, 2018.
Efforts to reach the two accused was not successful as they refused to pick their calls or reply to messages sent to their phones.
However, when contacted, the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Chidi Nwanbuzor said the command was aware of the case but was preparing to attend to it.
Mr Nwnbuzor said full briefing would be made when the commissioner of police gives directive in that regard
He called on the member of the public to be calm and go about their normal businesses peacefully and orderly.
