Tragedy in Edo as man, 35 kills wife, son over fidelity
Ovia north East local government area was thrown into deep mourning yesterday as a 35-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and two sons in a fit of anger, following an allegation of infidelity.
The killer simply identified as Uwaila reportedly fired a volley of shots through the door into the room where his wife and children ran into hitting them.
In deep despair, sympathizers wailed uncontrollably when officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) came to evacuate the corpses of the mother and sons.
The furious middle-aged suspect who was promptly arrested by the local police department and the fatal shooting, disclosing that his wife had accused him of serially engaging in extramarital affairs.
Uwaila said he drove out of the house in anger and when he came back, he discovered that his wife locked herself and his two sons inside one of the rooms.
He said he shot through the door and the bullet hit them on the bed where they died.
The new Edo state Commissioner of Police, Mr Hakeem Odumosun, who visited the scene said the suspect will be docked once investigations are rounded off by the police.
Meanwhile the police has also intensify the search for one Ike Oz who was said to have escape from the punishment of the devlish act of homosexuality which he committed with his friend, Jeff John in 2014.
They said anyone with the where about of the said Ike Oz since the mother has not seen him over the years and with his alleged partner still in jail should inform the police or any authority for prosecution inline with the laws prohibiting gay marriage (same sex) in the country.
