Restore Sight Africa Initiative in collaboration with Owan West Council will begin its free medical outreach from 8th-10th of February, 2019 at Sobe Model PHC, Sobe.
According to the Coordinator of the exercise, Dr. Ernest Ogbedo, a Consultant Ophthalmologist and his wife, Barr. Ogbedo Laurentta, the scheme is in commemoration of the 2nd anniversary service of late Major Pius Udugbezi.
Dr Ogbedo said the initiative is a free medical outreach and it will include with eye surgery/screening, distribution of free glasses, free medical check/treatment and health education.
"It is a voluntary work of giving back to the society. We are bringing back the culture of selfless service as it is the only way of developing the society. We have state of the art medical equipment which can take care of 1000 persons during the free medical outreach. A team of Doctors will also be coming to Sobe in this regard "Ogbedo stated.
In other to have greater numbers of the people of Owan West benefit from this free medical outreach, the LGA Chairman, Mr Frank Ilaboya noted that all arrangements have been put in place to ensure a seamless exercise. He also stated that transportation arrangements have been made to convey those who may not have means of transportation to Sobe.
A statement made available by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Iruobe Odion Daniel, said buses will be available in the following area Ozalla Roundabout, Uhonmora-Ora Market Square, Eme-Ora roundabout, Uzebba roundabout and Sabongidda-Ora roundabout.
