Sporting activities is one of the thousand ways through which youths can be reached for proper up bringing in our society. For those in the tertiary instructions which are face with the menace of examination malpractice, sport is a perfect way in preaching to them the right way to go.
The Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma stated this recently during the Okpekpe road race, Estako East LGA in Edo state,. When he led management staffs and some student to run against examination malpractices at 10 kilometers road race.
Professor Ignatius Onimawo said for Nigeria institution to run academic institution that is free from all kinds of examination malpractices the student should be taught and shown the right way.
The AAU VC noted that the institution would ensure that examination malpractice is stamped out in the system through continuous vigorous campaign against the menace in the society.
"My decision on this is base on the incessant examination malpractices in Nigeria tertiary institutions and that is what we are running against today, so that we can completely erase unemployable graduates in the country. This ugly practice is not helping us as a nation and that is why AAU is taking the lead on this very campaign".
"Our template is very clear other institutions can copy, we want them to join in the struggle, let us come together and fight this ugly scourge that is eating deep in our cherish society. We succeeded on the campaign against cultism and that is why we are coming up with this very one.
Professor Onimawo advised students to study well to come out with flying colours rather than thinking of how to indulge in examination malpractice which can rendered the society unproductive.
He commended the state government and the organizers for the laudable event which gives opportunity to athletes all over the world to display their talents which has now translated to helping them to earning a good living base on this noble idea.
