The national youth service corps, NYSC, Area Coordinator,
South-South Zone, Mr Ayodele Omotade, beseech corps members to strive for excellence in all their endeavors and maintain the high level of discipline exhibited on camp so far during and after their Orientation programme through the service year and beyond as better citizens.
Mr Omotade gave this advise during a familiarization visit to the camp, at the NYSC Temporary Orientation camp for the 2019 Batch C Stream 2 orientation course in Okada, Ovia north east LGA, Edo state.
According to him, 'let me quickly thank the management, staff, i want the staff in NYSC Edo State to develop common ties. And most especially corps members for their perseverance and endurance in managing camp facilities while being creative and positive-minded.
'For corps members, you know the importance of security which you must at alk time imbibe in you daily lives. "Avoid frivolous journeys and unnecessary adventures which would not profit. Instead invest the same time in profitable ventures which the NYSC SAED program offers.
'Remember that Nobody associates with failure, failure is an orphan which is best avoided, so strive for excellence. Add Value to your host communities through active CDS participation. Leave worthy legacies behind and you may win an award. Although, the motive behind a project shouldn't be to win an award".
'You must note that the days of white-collar-jobs are no more, maximize the opportunity the scheme has provided via the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme in order to be self-reliant and cope with the menace of unemployment in the country. I pray that as corps members you have a successful service year and beyond he added.
Earlier, the State Coordinator, Edo state, Adebayo Clement Ojo, thanked the Area Coordinator for the august visit and presented the camp report which included the number of Corps members and also acknowledge the behavior of corps members aligning with the regimented lifestyle.
