As a way of encouraging and ensuring the safety health workers most importantly at the local level amid the current global health pandemic. The special assistant to Gov Godwin Obaseki, Comr Osaretin Eribo have donated hand gloves, face mask and Hypo disinfectant for adequate service delivery to the three primary health centres in Ukpato ward 6, Orhionmwon local government area, Edo state.
The SA to the state governor said it became necessary and incumbent on him to also complement the effort of the state government as it regard to containing the spread of COVID-19.
According to him, 'I'm doing this to complement the effort of the state government who have be consistent in the fight against the deadly pandemic effecting the world globally.
'You must agree with me that government alone can not do it, we at our individual level must do the little we can to help ourselves.
Comr Eribo who was accompanied by tje Senior Special Assistant to Gov Obaseki on community development, Hon Orobosa Osagbovo and Osaro Ernest, also contracted the service of workmen to help in clearing the grasses around the primary health centre in Okogbo village advised the health workers on duty during the donation to make proper use of the items donated for the benefit of those that will come for medical attention.
'I'm not just donating to the three primary health centres alone but I'm also paying for the clearing and maintainers of the surroundings with focus on Okogbo PHC.
'I hope these three PHCs namely Okogbo Primary Health Centre, Evbuarhue Primary Health Centre and Igbekhue community health centre will use these facemask, hypo disinfectant and hand gloves very well for our people. Every Edo Sons and Daughter should join hand together with our wake and see Gov in making Edi free from COVID-19 he added.
Speaking at Igbekhue community health centre Mrs Faith Omokaro who received the items from Comr Eribo, thanked the SA for remembering the health workers despite the facts that he is just a special assistant.
'We are very happy for this kind gesture, this items will assists very well especially this hand gloves.
Mrs Ufumwen Florence at Okogbo Primary Health Centre and Mrs Blessing Osifo at Evbuarhue Primary Health Centre also thanked and appreciated the appointee for the donation.
