COVID-19: LGA boss donates March salary to fight pandemic

Chairman, Ovia South West Local Government Area, Comr. Destiny Oghayerio Enabulele, has resolve to donate his March salary to support the fight against coronavirus pandemic.

Enabulele made the pronouncement at the COVID-19 committee review meeting at the council hall, said the donation would be his personal contribution to alleviate the hardships being faced by the people at this time of national emergency.

The Council Chief further saird that all government directives still stands.

He noted that any worship centre that violates these orders would be shut down.

He said to further cushion the hunger effect, the Council has made available food items to support the vulnerables, and asked for more support from individuals and companies.

The Chairman later led the COVID-19 committee on a sensitisation tour to Iguobazuwa market, where he urged everyone to come together to curtail the pandemic.

Other members of the Committee includes the Council Vice Chairman, Hon Fred Aimienwanwu, Secretary to the local Government Council (SLG), Oladimeji Obateru, Councillors, representatives of Security agencies, amongst others.
