The Former Minority Whip of the house of Representatives Hon Samson Osagie said the current aspirants under the All Progressive Congress, APC in Edo state apart from Gov Godwin Obaseki are capable of providing the much needed leadership for the State from November 2020.
Hon Osagie said this why reacting to the alleged lacklustre disposition of the State government to the current challenges facing the citizens due to the corona virus pandemic.
He said that Obaseki's administration is shrouded in secrecy and deceit and therefore the party will definitely get an alternative candidate amongst its eminent contestants to replace him in Osadebay Avenue.
According to the immediate past Executive Director of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Ltd, 'just look at the way each of the aspirants rose up to the challenge of supporting the citizens at the onset of this pandemic by distributing medical supplies, food items and other essential commodities to support the needy in the society, while the Governor of the state was in self isolation without disclosing his status.
'Other governors disclosed their status, those that was earlier tested negative also disclosed other results that follows, after the initial result but in his traditional way of trying to deceive Edo people, he kept mute without telling Edo people the results of other test. The aspirants practically took over, to fill in the leadership deficit arising from the lacklustre attitude of the government'
'Edo people are not unmindful of the way he has left them behind in this trying time and the party will surely correct it at the appropriate time.
He urge Edo people to make use of all they can get from various sources judiciously while urging more public spirited individuals like churches and successful business men to support the populace in anyway possible.
