Hon Okankan who is receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital alleged that he was attacked by Erick Omoregie from Idunehibo and Henry Obe from Iguododo who are known loyalist to Ize-Iyamu.
According to what Hon Okankan told DAILYPOST via telephone interview, the errand boys of Ize-Iyamu attacked me at Obozogbe Community, ordinarily, they were already sensitizing people, telling them that Ize-Iyamu is the next governor of Edo state, it came to a point when I have to tell my people what the authentic information is.
'Immediately I voiced out the information, they bounced on me, they attacked me with different weapons. They just came in to the venue where myself, my party chairman in my ward and some other person were having a meeting.
'I was force to ask if they were members of APC because I'm not aware of the authencity of their membership as a leader in Ugboko ward. Chris Ogiemwonyi, Pius Odubu and Gov Obaseki, I know we are APC members but for Ize-Iyamu and his errand boys, they are not members of my party.
Effort to reach Pastor Ize-Iyamu to clearify if he was in the know of the ordeal proved abortive as several calls and text message sent to his phone remain unanswered.
