A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, and former commissioner for Education, Hon. Gideon Obhakhan, have distributed relief materials worth millions of naira as palliative to support the people of esan west local government Area in Edo state.
In a statement sent to Factsreporters, Hon Obhakhan said, it became necessary to reach out to his people knowing fully well the pains and sufferings caused by the effect of covid-19 pandemic.
According to him, covid-19 is a common enemy and we all must rise up to fight it, we would have had lockdown if not for this ugly pandemic.
'As a way of supporting the needy in this trying period, this 100 bags of rice, 100 bags beans, cartons of noodles, cash and other gift items will be shared across all the communities through our traditional rulers heads of communities in the entire local government. the relief materials with be distributed to the less privileged irrespective of their political, social and religious affiliations'
He advised the people not to worry and assured that covid-19 will soon become a thing of the past and urged everyone to obey all government directives as well as other useful instructions aimed at eliminating the pandemic.
'Everyone of us must maintain social distancing, wash and sanitize your hands regularly and also obey the stay at home order, because that is the easiest way to stop the spread of the virus' Hon Obhakhan added.
