Edo Civil Society Organisationd, EDOCSO, on Wednesday holds rally within major roads in Sakponba, Upper Sakponba axis in Oredo and Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, Edo State.
The sensitization rally is in collaboration with CLEEN Foundation centred on the fight against corruption.
Speaking during the rally, with banner housing 'we say no to corruption' the Coordinator General of the civil rights group, Leftist Omobude Agho said the citizens must collectively come together in the fight against corruption.
"This sensitization rally on public awareness on fight against corruption is a wake up call for everyone of us at this time to say no corruption in our society, there is need for all Edos and Nigerians to join hands together"
"As at today bail is free, if you give any policeman money 'na corruption be that', if you bribe anybody for favour, that is also corruption"
"Let's stand against corruption, don't collect money from any politician before and during election, vote your choice and see what will happen. Know your right nor be curse.
Also, the Deputy Coordinator General of the group, Annie Iroro noted that, all hands must be on deck before is too late, let's join anti-graft agencies in Nigeria to fight the ugly scourge that is capable of killing us as citizens.
"Why doing this, there is need for citizens to know their rights to avoid infringement on their fundamental human rights. Our laws in this country is working, just that some of our people are not aware.
On the upcoming Edo election, Comr. Agho advised the people of the state to vote their chosen candidate by September: 'make una nor sell una votes' he added.
