The funeral service for
late Madam Mary Uzamere, Mother of Edo APC Chieftain and gubernatorial aspirant in the forthcoming polls, Maj-Gen Charles Airhiavbere (rtd.) will hold tomorrow Friday at his Benin City residence.
A statement by the eldest son of the deceased , Maj-Gen Charles Airhiavbere said their matriarch corpse is expected to depart the Military Base Hospital in Benin City for interment tomorrow Friday at his GRA residence.
It noted that the interment, a private and low key ceremony is strictly to be attended by immediate family members of late Madam Mary Uzamere, owing to the not more than 20 persons gathering directive by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) preventive guidelines on covid-19 pandemic.
The APC chieftain urged all to strictly adhered to social distancing and other guidelines while biding mama farewell at the grave side.
According to the statement, other activities to herald the final social dance ceremonies will commence in the future while we await the government's lifting of restrictions occasioned by covid-19 pandemic.
Airhiavbere however expressed appreciation to families, friends and political associates who identified with him on the passage of his mother following their prayers, support and encouragements to the Airhiavbere and the Uzameres during their moment of grief.
Late Madam Mary Orhue Uzamere passed on at the age of 83 in Lagos state, Nigeria after a brief illness.
Until her death, she was a devoted Christian, and a professional Nurse Midwife for several years in London.
She is survived by 8 Children amongst who are Maj-Gen Charles Ehigie Airhiavbere (Rtd.), 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
