Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Edo state chapter has called for justice and speedy investigation for late Uwaila Omozuwa who was raped and killed in a church in Benin City.
Chairperson of Edo NAWOJ, Comrade Adesuwa Ehimua who led other female Journalists on a condolence visit to the family of the deseased said as mothers the association feels the pains currently bedeviling Uwa family.
According to her, the manner she was killed in sanctuary of God which is a place for refuge was somehow disturbing and worrisome and said the need for quick investigation was necessary.
Briefing the visiting Women Journalists, the father of late Uwa, Mr Johnson Omozuwa regretted that there was nothing he could do to save his daughter’s life while she was in coma even as tears poured from her eyes.
He thanked the university of Benin Teaching Hospital for trying to bring back his child to live as she struggled with life.
Other female Journalists on the visit are the Chapter Secretary, Rosemary Okoduwa, Former Zonal Secretary, Tessy Otene, Ogochukwuka Onah among others.
