Modular Refinery: Edo Indigenes lauds Gov Obaseki

The indigenes of Ologbo dukedom with over ten communities has commended governor Godwin Obaseki for bringing a first class modular refinery to Edo state to ease the stress and for the creation of Job opportunities for the people.

Hon Felix Edogiaworie, counselor representing ward 10, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government commended the governor over the enabling environment and promise fullfil mantra that has led to the establishment of Edo Refinery and petrochemical company limited with the coming together of Africa infrastructure partner limited and Peiyang chemical and Engineering company as investors in Ologbo community.

Hon Felix who is also the community liaison officer, CLO to Edo refinery made this commendation why reacting to questions from newsmen during the commencement of remedial work by Edo refinery in some failed portion of the Benin/Sapele road to ease the stress being experience by motorist plying the road.

According to him, just like what the Governor has done by bringing the company to be refining petroleum products here, I also believe in what will benefit my people because this road has cause several accident and people have lost their lives. I don't believe in personal gain but general gain that of benefit to the larger society.

The situation of vehicles who tries to avoid this failed portion of the road by using the old road as alternative is very worrisome, three vehicles burnt beyond recognition some days ago and now Edo refinery is here to ease the suffring by coming to our aid at this material time.

'Now this is it, this very company came as a result of the MOU by Gov. Obaseki, we heard Oshiomole and Ize-iyamu saying, there is no monduy refinery in Ologbo here in Edo state, there is and is very near completion.

According to the site Engineer Engr Sunday Airienbuwa, he said the remedial work became necessary after the incident that happened when over twenty person died on the road while trying to avoid the bad portions on the road and metained that the time frame for the work is one week.

Also Mr Segun Okeni, the head of community relations noted that making life meaningful for the people especially those withing the host community is part of the cardinal point of Edo refinery.

Earlier, the Project director of Edo rinfinary, Tim Tian told newsmen that as benefactor of the community which is the host they needed to fix the bad portions of the road so that it they can smooth and free flow in moving their product to other state with the federation. Edo refinery is almost completed and will be commission by next month, Tim Tian added.

Some commuters who could not hide their fillings while explaining their ordeal appreciated the effort by Edo refinery.
