Insecurity: Police rescueed six victims in Edo



Police officers from Egba decisional police headquarters,

Edo State Command has rescued not less that six Kidnapped victims along Benin Auchi road today Thursday.


Reports says the victims were abducted at about 6.40pm on Wednesday while travelling from Ekpoma to Benin City.

According to the Press release sent to FACTSREPORTERS by the police public relations officer, SP Kontongs Bello on Thursday; Abdulkarim Kazeem and Odoh Chukchekua, who are both aged 40 and were arrested for their roles in the illegal act.


"Our officers from Egba Divisiona while acting on credible information from members of the public, that a Toyota Sienna Bus with registration number EDO RRU 780 NE belonging to a private transport company, on its way from Ekpoma to Benin was intercepted by hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers at Igue-Ozevbaru who went away with the passengers into the forest.


“The DPO of the Division, SP John Emmanuel quickly mobilised patrol teams combine of safer highway, military and vigilante groups into the bush for immediate bush combing with a view of ensuring the safe rescue of the kidnap victims.


“They intercepted the kidnappers in a gun duel while leading the victims into the forest around Obadan community. The hoodlums then abandoned all the victims including the driver and fled into the bush, while two of them were caught.
