Edo community E.V. Kassel based in Germany has donated different gift items worth millions of Naira to Ossiomo specialist hospital in Ogan village, Orhionmwon local government area, Edo State.
The gift items is coming amid the current economic hardship and high cost of living in the country.
Presenting the gift items to the hospital, the president of the organization, Mr Lando Treasure Eguavoen, gave the reason for the visit, as one that is very timely after a carefully observation of the hospital and the organisation thought it wise to put smiles on their faces by helping them in the area of need which is part of their social responsibility.
He said, the body that came into existence in the year 2002 has being assisting the Ogan base hospital with lots of gift items like sleeping beds and mattresses since 2007.
While allaying the fear in the minds of the public, Eguavoen stressed that leproserium disease is curable and people should come out and join hands to gather in making sure that the spread of the disease is reduce, not other people to be scared about the disease.
According to him, "Edo community E.V Kassel is a non governmental and non profitable humanitarian service organization base in Kassel Germany with a view of alleviating the suffering of many Nigerians both home and abroad.
He discribed the aim of the organization as the one who's primary aim is to care about humanity.
" this year we are donating bags of Rice, beans, Toiletries, soaps, breads, clothes, and many other food items because Christmas is around the corner, we appreciate the medical team here on ground especially the Medical director of the hospital for his supporting role'
On his part, secretary of the organization, Henry Erhabor, said they were in Ossiomo hospital not just to give the leprosy inmates items also to map out some projects and build a sanitation facility for them and provide whee chairs for those that can't work in conjunction with the Medical director in charge of the leprouserium.
Receiving the gift items from members, the Medical director Dr. Igbinigie Osaigie and his team thanked them over the gesture and prayed God to help them with more grace and journey mercies back to Germany.
