Following the dissolution of cabinet members by the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki and the official swearing-in/ inauguration of the second term of the Governor, it is however expedient to recount the visible achievements of some of the key players of the successes in Gov. Godwin Obaseki led administration.
The graph plotted above equally invites Hon. Patrick Okundia, who serves as the Commissioner for Health between (November 13th, 2019- November 11th, 2020), approximately a year in office.
One distinctive perculiarity about the Specialist Medical Practitioner, Dr. Okundia is that his giant stride in repositioning the Health sector of Edo State cannot be overemphasized.
Before his appointment as a Civil Commissioner, Dr. Okundia was the Chief Medical Director of Stella Obasanjo Hospital, Benin City and had previously earned himself unprecedented experience, familiarity with the state public health sector. His zeal and utmost pedigree led to his involvement in the formulation of Edo- Hip, a policy whose implementations has sprinkled light and rebirth to the health sector.
“Edo Healthcare Improvement Programme (EdoHIP)" is a series of government-led interventions aimed at restoring health care and overral health sector.
In the last 365 days, various diseases have threatened humanity not exonerating the dreaded Lassa fever, covid'19 pandemic. It is on record that the meticulous approach to curbing this unholy predicament is traceable to the capable hands of the Commissioner and Godwin Obaseki led administration.
Truly, you cannot recount the successes of Gov. Obaseki in the health sector without acknowledging the tireless efforts of Dr. Patrick Okundia.
Legacy! Dr. Okundia has indeed distinguished himself from a hosts of other Public Servants with his mindset of attracting effective deliverables.
